My Birthday @ Hard Rock Cafe

Was super happy last Friday cos it was my birthday and since it coincide with Good Friday, I got a day off from work. What a great great day. Haha. Anyway, I get to catch up on sleep on my birthday which is the best thing for me. Have not been getting enough rest lately due to work, work and more work. All work and no rest makes me a grumpy princess....

<To be completed....I just realised I don't have my photos in this computer....>

Taxis and Me

I think taxis are really against me or something. Yesterday, I took a taxi to my client's office. When the taxi driver started to drive off, I suddenly realised that I didn't have cash in my purse. I knew there was a reason why I had initially planned to take the MTR instead of the taxi because I knew that I had no cash on hand. But when my colleague said that I was crazy to be taking the MTR as I had my trunk with me, I just conveniently forgot this fact and got into the taxi. Imagine my embarassment when I had to tell the taxi driver to drop me at the ATM to withdraw money as I had no cash with me. The taxi driver was totally amused and said "It's only around HK20 something, don't you have coins? You can even pay me in RMB". Haha, good thing the taxi driver thought I was from China. Didn't embarass my country. Kakakaka. Anyway, the taxi driver was kind enough to find a HSBC ATM for me (Guess he had no choice, it was either that or he won't get any payment) so all went well in the end. Hopefully I won't be banned from taking taxis in the future. I can imagine the taxi driver must have found me amusing coz he was laughing when I got out from the taxi. Look on the bright side, at least I cheered someone up.  I really want to propose to the HK Govt to install Octopus machines in all taxis. That would be so convenient and then my life won't be so dramatic anymore. Haha.

Drama Queen

  • Quote of the Day: Just Freaking Tired

Life has been so busy lately that I don't have time to blog.  I can't believe that's been a month since I last blogged. It's been work, work and more work every single day from Monday to Sunday. Getting so freaking tired.

The worst part is, my being tired and in a crappy mood has made me an even crazier drama queen. I can't believe these things can happen to me. It goes beyond reason. I'll let you be the judge of it. Here goes...

Drama No 1

I went into the cab (Note: Have been taking cab home quite often nowadays cos there's no MTR after 12 am...and yes, I've been working after 12 am these days), realised that I did not have enough cash to pay the cab driver. Pretended nothing was happening to avoid being dumped by the cab driver by the road side. Reached home, pretended to take out my purse, and pay for the taxi fare. Pretended to be surprised that I didn't have enough money to pay for the fare. Grinned sheepishly at the cab driver and asked him to wait for me to get my money from my apartment. Unfortunately, he wasn't the most patient cab driver and asked me to borrow money from my apartment's security guard. So had no choice but to embarass myself and asked for a HK10 loan from the security guard, paid the cab driver, ran up to my apartment, got some cash, ran down to pay the security guard. I can't believe that the cab driver wasn't kind enough to give me a discount. Come on...I was only short of HK6.

Drama No 2

Was in office until 3 am one day. Had to send up accounts to the typist pool. Found out that our office's security is really good...all lifts are locked after 12am and can only go down to the lobby. So had to use the stairs instead. Placed my accounts at the typist pool, went down the staircase. Found out that I brilliantly used the wrong staircase. And I was locked in the staircase. The stupid stairwell had no panel that I can tag on to get back into my office. Started to panic and ran up and down the stairs to test the doors. All doors firmly locked. Went back down to my own floor. Called my friend and asked her to come and rescue me. (Note: After this incident, I realised the importance of owning a handphone in times of emergencies. ) My friend couldn't find me cos I was not using the main staircase. Asked her to walk around the whole floor to find poor little me who's stuck in the stairwell. Found at last. Phew.

Drama No 3

Related to Drama No 2. Told my friend to look for me if I don't appear in another 5 minutes as I was going up to typist pool again (Note: This incident happened a few days later). My friend told me to bring my handphone. Laughed at her cos I told her it won't happen again but took my handphone as a precaution. Went to the staircase. Realised I didn't have my tag with me and was locked in the staircase again. Called my friend to rescue me. I think the staircase is CURSED!!!

Drama No 4

Related to Drama No 1. Went to client's office in Cyberport. Wanted to go home by cab. Found out I didn't have cash once again. Tried to use some other bank's ATM to withdraw money but failed. Stupid ATM machines. So couldn't take a cab. Tried to take a bus. Couldn't find the bus stop. Walked up and down, in and out...getting restless and worried. Asked unhelpful customer service who pointed me to the wrong place to get a bus. Decided to follow people who seem to be going home. They walked too fast and disappeared into the lift. Took the lift but didn't know how to find the bus stop once getting out of the lift. Saw a friendly security guard officer who asked me where I wanted to go. Told him I was looking for the bus stop. He grinned and said, "Forgotten, where's the bus stop?" and then pointed me to correct direction. So thankful for his help.

I think it's proven, stairs and cabs are against me. Help Me!!!!

Happy Chinese New Year

It's Chinese New Year tomorrow and usually at this time, I should be having reunion dinner with my family. But this year is sooooo sad....I'm all alone in HK cos my flight back to Malaysia is tomorrow. So I have no one to celebrate New Year's Eve with. Life is so lonely. I only have my work to keep me company and doing work during holiday and when you're feeling down isn't such a great feeling...that's why I decided to blog for awhile.

Hmm...what should I write about....oh yea...my company had an annual ball last Saturday. It was freaking cold that night. I wore a long black halter neck dress with a pair of gold strappy shoes. Really regretted wearing strappy shoes cos I could literally feel my poor little toes getting frozen. Luckily I was smart enough to be wearing my woolen jacket. But vain me of course kept taking off my jacket cos what's the point of wearing a nice dress if you're going to cover it with your jacket. Anyway, to cut a long story short, food was ok, deco was nice and entertainment was good (see pics below)...but the best part was...I finally broke my lifelong curse of never ever winning a lucky draw. Although it was just a small prize I was so crazily happy to have won. From now, I can't go on telling people that I have never ever won a lucky draw in my whole entire life because everything changed on 2/2/2008. I WON MY FIRST EVER LUCKY DRAW! YIPPEE!!

I didn't look that great that night so I'm not going to post photos of myself.

How Much of A Drama Queen Are You?

Haha...I thought I'll be a drama queen but looks like I'm not.  This test is a request by My-Kin, my blogger friend.

You are a Balanced Babe!
You're direct and to the point, but never dramatic
You've got the confidence to speak your mind to anyone
But you leave the theatrics to Hollywood
Level headed and emotionally stable, no wonder everyone loves you

Story of My Poor Little Handbag

Aargh...I can't believe I'm so lucky today. I was walking out of the MTR train like usual to catch the next one on the other side when out of the blue, my beautiful brand new white handbag just slipped from my shoulders and dropped so beautifully onto the MTR tracks. I mean the gap between the train and the station is quite narrow and I just can't imagine how my handbag can fall right through. Talk about luck. And the worst part is, my handbag is so new and so pretty and so white.  I stood at the station trying to peep at my poor little handbag for a few minutes before I finally went to look for a customer service officer to help me. Good thing the fella was understanding and didn't laugh at me. Hopefully that's cos I'm not the only bimbo who's clumsy enough to drop her handbag. Anyway, the guy told me that it was peak time for the trains therefore he couldn't stop the trains from coming into the station, jump onto the tracks and get my bag for me. I just stared forlornly at him and finally he came up with a brilliant idea. He got a stick with a grip at the end and told me that he was going to hook up my bag when the train comes in again and the door opens. Was so happy when the train came and he expertly hooked my bag up. Phew. Glad that I managed to get my bag again. Wasn't so happy when I saw half of my bag was black in colour from the dirty track floor. Boo Hoo.......my poor little white handbag. Why is your life soooo miserable?

What Colour is Your Lucky Underwear?

Got this test from My-Kin. Haha...i'm dramatic...guess it suits me...I am a drama queen...and my lucky underwear is purple!! My favourite colour....

Your Lucky Underwear is Purple

Dreamy and idealistic, you envision great things for your life. Your lucky purple underwear can make those dreams come true!
You're a busy little butterfly. You have the most projects, interests, and friends of anyone you know.

You also have a flair for the dramatic. Sometimes too much drama comes in to your life and brings things to a stop.
If you want to focus more, and flutter less, put on your purple underpants. They'll help you get the important things done.
